In New York City this Week

I'm here for work meetings and have been stuck in the Hotel for the past three days. I haven't been able to venture out much because I've been so exhausted at the end of each day....I'm in love with the hotel pillows and have to literally peel myself out of bed every morning. ;)

I can never get enough of the New York City atmosphere. The busy and congested streets are very different from the quiet, suburban neighborhoods I'm used to in Florida. I always thought that in my twenties I'd live in a crowded city and work downtown. I never imagined that I'd remain in Florida, close to my family and friends [many of whom I've known for years]. Maybe one day that'll change.

Outfit Pick: Many of you might recognize this outfit, but its one of the most comfortable dresses I own. I decided to go for the professional look, so the red pumps didn't make the suitcase. They were replaced with my black, peep-toe heel.

Have you ever visited NYC? What do you love most about the Big Apple?

A smile in my mailbox :)

A few days ago I received a surprise in the mail! Well...not quite a surprise. I was expecting it, but if you only knew how excited I was to receive it! You're probably wondering, "what in the world is she talking about?" I entered Mere's blog contest (weeks ago) and found out that I was the winner of an Express giftcard! Well, my giftcard had arrived (with TWO AMAZING coupons), in the cutest packaging! Mere even included the most adorable card with the sweetest message. Thank you hun...you made me smile :).

Outfit Picks: I wore a simple black dress [with pockets...oh how i love dresses with pockets] today and paired with my gold cocktail jewelry. In an effort to add just a tad bit of color, I grabbed my giraffe peep toe heels.

Dress :: Old Navy (circa 2009)
Shoes :: Mossimo for Target
Necklace :: Forever 21

Do you enjoy receiving little gifts in the mail? Heck, I get excited when I'm expecting a package after purchasing something online! ;) Haha!

Enjoy your Friday. Remember to SMILE....it's contagious!

Weekend Shopping Recap and OOTD

Hello Ladies! I completed a week at my new job. There's a lot to learn, but I am really enjoying myself in this new role. Thanks for all the sweet comments and emails. I really appreciate it and it definitely made my day :).

Although my weekend was consumed with completing two [i repeat TWO] major case studies for school, I did find some time for a Starbucks and shopping break with my friend Kendal. This "little" 1-hour break turned into 3 hours and we even managed to stop by Target!

Forever 21
I purchased this purple and pink sheer blouse on sale for $10. I love the oversize pockets and the cinched waist. Fall is taking its time to arrive in Florida, so I'll be able to get away with wearing sleeveless for the next couple of weeks :).

Charlotte Russe
My excuse to stop by Charlotte Russe was to pick up a giftcard for my Charlotte Russe Giveaway winner. And it was waaaaayyy too difficult to step into that store and not browse! Ha! I ended up with a handful of items and darted into the fitting rooms. Unfortunately, so many of the skirts were too short to wear to work, so I didnt' do much damage. I purchased the most adorable, sheer, leopard-printed blouse. I love the gold accents. The photos do not accurately portray this blouse. You have to see it in person! [Purchase here.]

Target
I was in unfamiliar territory and thought it would be fun to visit a new Target store! I did receive a little surprise. Hanging on the sales rack was a couple of Tucker for Target skirts in Orange Herringbone...and one was JUST MY SIZE! I really wanted this skirt when it first came out, but all the Target stores in my area was sold out within a few weeks. It was meant to be. I snagged this surprise for only $25!

Outfit Picks: I don't have much gray in my closet, so I was thrilled to wear this dress today!

Dress :: Old Navy
Tank :: GAP (purchase here)
Shoes :: Nine West (last seen here)

Did you go shopping this weekend? What was your favorite find?

Must Haves: the perfect pair.

While we all have our own sense of style, the one thing we can all agree upon is denim. Who doesn't fall in love with a pair?! You can easily dress 'em up with heels or opt for comfortability with flats. I have two pairs that i couldn't live without - my Ted Baker flares and Forever 21 skinnies. Here are a few recent clippings of my favorite celebrities wearing denim with incredible style:

The effortlessly beautiful Audrina Patridge wearing a pair of black skinnies.

Halle Berry looking comfortable and chic.

My favorite "Friend," Jennifer Aniston wearing a military jacket and boycut capris.

Disney star, Selena Gomez in a pair of ripped jeans and boots.

Love that jacket Kristin Cavallari is wearing.

The white fedora adds a nice touch to Nicole Scherzinger's ensemble.

Young entrepreneur, Lauren "LC" Conrad looking darling in shorts.

 Jessica Biel sporting some fierce wedges!

 "Easy A's," Emily Stone.

"The Hill's" Co-stars, Stephanie Pratt and Lauren "Lo" Bosworth.

Are you a fan of denim? What makes a perfect pair of jeans an essential part of any wardrobe? Personally, I'd wear denim everyday if I could. I remember the BF telling me that for the first month of dating, he always saw me in jeans! Ooops! ;).

Starting New and Contest Winner Selected!

I've totally been slacking on post lately, and it isn't because I don't love you guys. Remember that exciting news I said I'd share with you? Well, I started a new job with a new company on Monday and I couldn't be any happier! This is practically my dream job [right now in my life], that has put me on the path to where I want to be within the next ten years. I'm such a planner and I set [way too high, according to mom] goals for myself, so I'm proud that I'm making great strides.

Enough about me. I'm sure you are all curious to know who the winner of the Charlotte Russe Giveaway is, huh?

Congratulations....
Chas @ From Denim to Dessert.
Please email me your mailing address and I'll get your $25 Gift card shipped to you right away! ;)

What exciting and new things are happening in your life? Share 'em with me, I want to know!

I'm going Apple!

I have to admit, I've never been an Apple fan. I own an iPod Shuffle that i use when taking my daily jog around the neighborhood, but that's the only Apple product I own.

That will slowly come to an end within the next two weeks. I'm going Apple! And I can't believe it either! My personal laptop is on it's way to retirement, and I cannot tell you how frustrating it has been to find out my computer has contracted another virus every couple of months. The amazing thing about owning a Mac is that you rarely have these issues. I'm planning on investing in a MacBook soon. For all you crazy Mac lovers, what do you love most about your computer? Do you have any advice for me before I begin ordering mine?

Happy 10-10-10!

Pulling out the scarves.

I've always had a little obsession with scarves. It's amazing how a scarf can really add that "WOW" factor to any outfit...including a pair of old jeans and a t-shirt. Today, I ruffled through my "fall/winter" drawers and located my favorite scarves. It's still sunny here in Florida, but luckily, we are getting a nice, cool breeze at night. I'm counting down to the first day I'll get to sport a scarf this season :)

Outfit Picks :: I haven't worn this skirt in a while, and didn't quite know what to wear today. I've been consumed with a lot at work [exciting news to come :)] and my personal life seems to get even more hectic as the days go by. I usually pick my outfit out the night before (including accessories), but for the past few weeks, I've had literally minutes [in the mornings] to decide. Here's Thursday's ensemble:

 Blouse :: GoJane (last seen here)
Skirt :: Lynn Fleur (custom made; last seen here)
Shoes :: Mossimo for Target (last seen here, purchase similar here)

Are you as obsessed with scarves as I am? Here's to a fabulous Friday ahead!

I'm baaaack... with a few obsessions.

I arrived at home around10:00am this morning! It feels so good to be back and I look forward to sleeping in MY own bed tonight. Work travel can be sooo exhausting, but our events this week went very well, and I couldn't be any happier.

[Beware of tangent, lol]
I've been obsessing over a few girly items lately and I wanted to share with you ladies:

1. Juicy Couture Peace & Love
This perfume was a surprise gift from my boyfriend a week or so ago and I'm in love with it. If you haven't done a sniff test, I highly recommend you head over to Macy's and SPRAY YOURSELF! I typically prefer more spicy scents (like Victoria Secret's Super Model), however, the sweetness of Peace & Love has a bit of sophistication that has grown on me. AND how adorable is the bottle?! It looks fabulous sitting on my dresser :)

Two coats featured. Excuse my messy application ;)

2. Avon Nailwear Pro: Urban Grey (#N902)
After reading a feature on Emily's blog, I called my mom and asked that she order a few colors from her Avon Representative. One bottle retails for only $3.50 (promo in latest catalog) and it is said to last for seven days without chipping. I'm on day three and my nails are still going strong. The polish is really smooth and light. The color is perfect for Fall and you won't have issues pairing with any outfit.

3. Forever 21 Fab Zipper Ankle Jeans
I purchased these jeans yesterday and have worn them for the past two days. They are extremely comfortable and at the low, low price of $14.50, you really can't go wrong! Not only do these skinnys hug my hip perfectly [this is a rarity I tell ya], but the zipper plackets at the ankles are genius! Jeans are always too long for me, so I've been unzipping a couple of inches and wearing with heels. PERFECT.  In addition to the classic dark denim, they also come in five other colors.

Outfit Picks: Since my plane landed a bit earlier this morning, I was able to grab lunch with one of my friends. The weather has been so nice [sun shining with a cool breeze from the east], I wanted to wear my eyelet dress...and I'm sporting my new URBAN GREY polish color! ;)

Dress :: Forever 21
Shoes :: Jessica Simpson (last seen here)
Handbag :: Louis Vuitton (last seen here)

What are your current obsessions? Enjoy your weekend Ladies! :)

Natasha xoxo
