Homemade Sunday Salsa

Sunday is the day the BF and I like to take time out for ourselves and simply do nothing. Even if that includes doing nothing on the lake, at the beach or at our family's homes. Today we decided to lounge around my house and watch movies. The best part... was my salsa dip! Here's an easy recipe anyone can follow:

Ingredients
3 tomatoes, chopped
5 serrano chiles, finely chopped
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 cup finely diced red onion
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons lime juice

Directions
In a bowl, stir together the tomatoes, onion, chili peppers, cilantro, salt, and lime juice. Include any additional ingredients you want. Chill for one hour in the refrigerator. Serve with pita or tortilla chips.

Trending: Colored Denim

Raise your hands if you're thrilled that half the week is over? I'm raising my hands!  Whoop Whoop, it's hump day! This week has definitely been a challenge...I have a huge project at work that never seems to end. I'm definitely not complaining. When everything is said and done, I'll miss it a little...wanting the next few months to fly by so I can work on it again :). I know, I'm a complicated girl. Ha!

Anyhoo, I've been real inspired by a number of celebrities and bloggers. Denim is one of those staple items in your closet you can wear everyday. Why not have a little fun with it. And by fun, I mean green, yellow, red, pink, you name it! Colored denim is a trend definitely catching on. Here are some of my finds:

Colorful celebrities out and about...

Hillary Duff in electric blue

Cameron Diaz in baby pink

Rachel Bilson in purple

Whitney Port in a light peach

Rhianna sporting a cheerful yellow

Kim Kardashian in electric blue

 Victoria Beckham in Pink

Bloggers jumpin' on the colored denim train... Did I miss the last stop?

Fall Project: Home Decor

I've blogged about this several times...my desire to redecorate my home sweet home. After several months of just thinking about what I wanted to modify, I'm finally serious about making some changes. I've been spending a lot of time lately, watching the DIY network and browsing through numerous decor websites. Here are some decor ideas I've fell in love with:

There are a number of photos I would love to get printed and frame. What a great idea to frame your most fondest memories above your bed.

Color. When will I ever get bold enough to paint the living room a fun combination of colors? Believe it or not, off-white was difficult for me....imagine orange and brown. Yikes!

What a creative way to display extra towels... love the rug as well.

Fun throw pillows.

Finding a chic way to incorporate animal print. I LOVE animal prints!

Seasonal home decor accessories to get you in the spirit. Love the fall colors!

A dinning room can also make a statement. The rug underneath the table really pulls this room together.

Imagine coming home from a long day of work and taking a bath in this room. The ability to dim the lights in the bathroom... on the list!

Wallpaper doesn't have to be tacky or scary. I've noticed a trend of using wallpaper, just on the main wall of a room.

Have you redecorated your home lately? What home projects are you currently working on?

Splurge vs. Steal: Slip-on Loafers

I've owned a few pairs of Sperry's and they are perfect for traveling. They slip on and off (for security check points) and are extremely comfortable. The best part is that they last for years! I purchased another pair yesterday and I couldn't help but see what else was available over the web. I came across such a great alternative at Target.

These pair are not real leather or suede, but they are on sale for only $15. Whoooahhh!

Have a great weekend ladies!

The Many Looks of Kate

The reason why so many people have fallen in love with Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge is because she appears to be very down to earth. I'm not sure if she has a personal stylist. It was reported that she was extremely involved in designing her wedding dress and did her own make up on her wedding day - that screams independence! I love her even more for that :) Anyhoo, her style is simple, clean and classy. A far cry from the usual royal stuffiness we are used to seeing. Here are some of my favorite "Kate" looks:

Are you a fan of the new Duchess? What do you love most about her style?

Happy Friday!

Current Obsession: [Stacked] Arm Candy

I've always been a bit conservative when it comes to wearing jewelry. For example, the idea of mixing silver with gold was a foreign idea to me just a year ago. I've really challenge myself to think outside of the box and fully compliment my outfits. Thank you fellow bloggers!

As you may have noticed [on the right hand side bar of my blog], my recent purchases have consisted of the Alex and Ani bangles, Michael Kors Rose Gold watch, and the Rhinestone Panel Toggle Bracelet - and I've been wearing them all together! Pair leathers with metals, ropes with beads and even henna bracelets, watches, cuffs...you name it! The best part about stacking is that there are NO RULES!

...Back from Las Vegas!
Yes, I'm back from Vegas and had one of the best weeks ever! I definitely recommend Zip lining at Bootleg Canyon and seeing "O" Cirque Du Soleil if you're ever in the area...definitely the highlight of my week. For all you fellow work-a-holics, I was reminded how important it is to take vacation and enjoy time off work [I'm guilty of this as well]. The year is halfway over...start planning some time for yourself!

Have any exciting plans for this 4th of July weekend? ...What are you wearing?! Oh! Don't forget to enter my JCrew Giveaway. The last day to enter is July 7th!
